TRIATHLON AND MULTISPORT
NEWS - OCTOBER 2009
MULTISPORT IS A LIFESTYLE
Triathlon and Multisport is still a young sport
when compared to more established and traditional
sports. It was only first thrown together in southern
California in the mid 1970's. From these beginnings
the sport has grown to become the 'it' sport to
do and shows no sign in slowing down. The Noosa
Triathlon (Australia's biggest) filed this year
in a record 4 days and recently let it be known
that the waiting list for a spot had grown to
2500 individuals! Ironman too continues to grow
across the globe with many in North America and
Europe filling 12 months in advance and within
hours of entries opening. This sport is a lifestyle
and the positive influences it brings to our lives
keep the fires buring within. I know in my own
25 years in the sport the experiences have been
ones to remember and the simple combination of
swim, bike and run are the perfect combination
to help keep the body and mind in shape to help
us tackle whatever life throws at us.
